On behalf of the Council of Braunvieh SA, it is our pleasure to invite you to be our guest at the strategic planning workshop to be held at Grasslands Safari (GPS: plaas aardoorns), Brandfort. Registration 09:30 on Friday 13 November 2015 until
14 November 2015: Departure 15:00
Braunvieh SA Strategic Planning Workshop is a very important platform for the organisation to engage with its members. The goal is to rethink the current situation of the Braunvieh breed in SA. Also to determine how the Braunvieh (dual purpose / beef cattle with lots of milk) can be improved and marketed to race in the winner’s lane against the strong SA cattle competitors.
Innovative topics will be discussed by guest speakers that are hand-picked. Each stud breeder will have the opportunity to evaluate his/her own stud and set goals with the help of SA Studbook professionals.
It would be a great honour to us if you could find some time to attend this important event and form part of choices that have to be made and actions to be taken. Please find attach the detailed program as well as the registration form.

Dear Award Winners and Breed Societies
This short video clip was made on the day of the 2015 ARC National Awards at the Jacaranda Agricultural show and is available on Youtube. But this is just a few highlights of the day. Landbou.TV can supply us with a more complete high quality DVD of +/- 45 minutes that will cover all the activities on the day and with all the trophy winners (with sound) who received awards on the day. All the bulls that competed in the Special Performance Test Class will also appear on this DVD. The ARC will distribute the DVD to the relevant sponsors and to the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to ensure exposure through the official structures.
We would like to determine the interest for such a DVD and will be much appreciated to please inform me as soon as possible. The price per DVD is R200-00.

Laat weet my asb as julle sou belangstel om bulletjies jonger as 14 maande na die veldbulklub in Vrede wil stuur.
Minimum van 10 Braunvieh bulle word benodig daarom moet julle my asb laat weet dan koordineer ek dit namens die Braunvieh genootskap. Ek kan die Fase D veldbultoets aanbeveel omrede waardevolle syfers gebruik word vir bul - seleksie.
Daar is 'n opsie om na 'n jaar jou bul te laat afrond en op die jaarlikse veldbulveiling te verkoop of jy kan jou bul weer huis toe neem.
Ingesluit al die inligting rakende die Veldbulklub wat by Dr Hannes Dreyer van Vrede in die Vrystaat plaasvind.
Dit is presies dieselfde as die Fase D veldbultoets wat deur Stamboek hanteer word.
Die minimum van 10 Braunvieh bulle moet ingeskryf word om 'n sinvolle toets te kan doen.
Innamedatum is 1 - 15 September 2015
Bulletjie moet jonger as 14 maande wees.

Tydens die Vryburg Skou was daar 10 Braunvieh bulle en vier vroulike diere aangebied. Lewendige belangstelling het geheers.
Agt bulle is verkoop met die hoogste prys van R48 000 vir die bul van die SP Els Familie Trust en drie vroulike diere is verkoop met die hoogste prys van R15 000 vir 'n vers van Alphine Braunvieh (mnr Philip Wessels). Die gemiddeld van die bulle was R26 714.29 en die vroulike diere R12 666.67. Vyf kopers het die diere opgeraap.
SA Stamboek het u heffingslyste vir u gestuur: maak asb seker dat u dit ontvang het en terugstuur teen einde Mei 2015.

Die afgelope naweek , 6 en 7 Februarie 2015, het die Braunvieh telers en vriende lekker gekuier en gewerk op Kobus en Marietjie Bezuidenhout se plaas, Palmietgat te Brandfort.
Donderdagmiddag het die raad vergader. Vrydagoggend het die keurders en beoordelaars bymekaar gekom en lekker beessake gesels. Duidelike doelwitte is gestel vir nog ‘n jaar met die Braunvieh.
Vrydagmiddag was dit die tien voornemende, beginners en junior beoordelaars se beurt om hul verder te bekwaam. Eers is daar lesings en demonstrasies aangebied: ‘n lesing deur Daleen Bester oor diskwalifikasies is gevolg deur n koei demonstrasie deur oom Piet de Villiers en Schalk Erlank gesels oor die vereistes wat ons stel vir n Braunviehbul. Later die middag het ons na n praatjie’geluister oor die Bester kruis proewe met die Bonsmara en daar is ook terugvoering gegee oor verlede jaar se bosberaad.
Daar was heerlik gekuier om die kospotte asook by ons slaapplek , Safari Lodge, van Karel en Erika Coetzer.
Saterdag het die sweet, letterlik en figuurlik vir die kandidate begin tap met die aflê van teoretiese toetse onder die wakenede oë van Kobus. Hans, Schalk en Gawie hanteer die praktiese deel van die toetsing.
Wat ‘n suksessvolle naweek! Baie dankie aan die Bezuidenhout gesin vir hul reëlings en gasvryheid.
